DissoNoiSex

---------DissoNoiSex is a group of three artists that describe themselves as a group exploring connections between sound, interactivity and various human communication strategies; more specifically with sex. They have presented their work in three pieces: the Sirenas, Repressound and Dissectionata.
Sirena was located on the gallery window. Consisting of inflatable plastic dolls they are attached on the window with a flute in between them. Outside of that gallery window there is a rope that when pulled it triggers the compressor that is connected to it. Meanwhile the compressor inflates the plastic dolls through a plastic tube. At the exact time it would force air in the flute as an end result to produce sound.
The second piece, Dissectionata, was made up of a manikin dressed in a metallic food wrapper and wires attached to it. Once there was an interaction around the breast area and around the reproductive system a loud and sometimes-screechy noise would be produced. This was a nice way of showing the interaction of in a sense the human body and sound.
Repressound is their last installation in their work. It is made up of a rectangular box standing upwards containing a hole in the middle that the viewer will be able to see a video image. Technically it comprises a different way of navigating across video material: through acoustic utterances and with their vocal sounds the visitors will alter the development of the video that is on the inside of the box. On another level the installation reveals individual preconceptions.
The group DissoNoiSex creates a series of mechanisms where not only the action and the reaction are moved of one of the other, but the elements that the obtained results surround and make us reflect about our own initiative and intentionality when interacting. The dissonance, the noise, and the sex are the elements that enter the game to break the inherent logic to the mechanism.
